Clinical Director

Various locations, NY
Partnership with Children (PWC) works with public schools in New York City’s highest-need communities to provide critical social and emotional supports for the hardest-to-reach youth and to systematically build schools that are safe, successful and conducive to learning. Clinical Directors provide clinical supervision, management and leadership for Social Work Directors, Social Workers and interns at multiple school locations. 
 
The ideal candidate is an experienced clinician, skilled leader and capable manager, is passionate about social justice and equity, and is committed to empowering students, families, schools and communities. 
  
Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct weekly structured clinical and administrative supervision of Social Work Directors (LCSW/LMSWs with an average of 4 years' experience who supervise PWC social workers and social work interns)  
  • Provide oversight for crisis situations related to students, families and schools as needed. 
  • Identify learning goals and facilitate direct reports increased clinical, management, and training skills.  
  • Develop staff’s management and leadership skills including conflict resolution, negotiation, building and maintaining effective collaborations, and using data to inform programmatic decisions 
  • Model development and maintenance of key collaborative relationships including school principal, school staff and various NYC Department of Education staff engaged at the school and District Levels 
  • Ensure the Partnership with Children program is implemented with fidelity to the model 
  • Develop staff’s ability to integrate into and engage with school culture through fostering positive relationships with school community 
  • Direct the development of annual work plans and goals. Monitor progress and negotiate changes with stakeholders 
  • Ensure clinical records and administrative records and data collection are timely and high quality, including managing budgets 
  • Use data to monitor and improve program quality and make programmatic decisions 
  • Be an active participant in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and utilize your knowledge and learning in your work 
Qualifications: 
  • Demonstrated understanding of high-need communities and public schools as well as social service, education and behavioral health issues that impact students and their families 
  • Strong knowledge of school as setting for social work practice, experience working with school staff and families 
  • Commitment to demonstrating PWC’s organizational values of Collaboration, Continuous Learning, Going to Solution, Equity & Inclusion, and Passion 
  • Licensed as LCSW in New York State with SIFI certification. 
  • At least 8 years' post Master’s degree experience as a school or community-based mental health or school-based social worker and at least 4 years’ experience supervising social workers in a school-based program; 2 years’ experience supervising the manager/director of the school-based program a plus. 
  • Exceptional administrative, supervisory and staff development skills. 
  • Excellent clinical skills (including individual and group counseling) and comprehensive understanding of the tiered support model and related programs and interventions in school-based mental health and integrated student supports. 
  • Superior engagement, communication and presentation skills with multiple stakeholders including staff, principals, and parents 
  • Ability to thrive in a high autonomy/high accountability environment 
  • Ability to adapt; encourage openness, flexibility and creativity in meeting programmatic and regulatory needs 
  • Outstanding collaborator and consensus builder. 
  • Flexible, multi-tasker who can handle multiple priorities. 
  • Strong commitment to personal and professional development. 
  • Ability and willingness to regularly travel to schools in 5 boroughs (by car or public transportation). 


Hours:
  • Full-time, some weeknight and Saturday hours
  • Year-round position

Salary and Benefits:
Salary range is $95,000-$105,000. All full-time employees receive an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k retirement plan with employer match, life insurance, Flexible spending Account/FSA, Commuter benefits, and twenty-four days paid annual leave per year, plus four Summer Fridays and 12 other paid holidays.
