Partnership With Children (PWC) strengthens the mental health and well-being of New York City students by embedding licensed social workers and comprehensive supports directly in schools reaching over 20,000 children and families each year. Across our core partner schools we build ecosystems of support that empower students, support families, and transform schools through trauma-informed counseling, community-based programming, and healing-based arts education—creating nurturing environments that foster resilience, learning, and opportunity. Partnership with Children provides critical counseling, school-wide services, and family and community outreach in high-poverty, New York City public schools so students can reach their full potential. The Beacon Programs are school-based Community Centers, funded by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD). Beacon programs operate during after school hours, weeknights, weekends, and during summer vacation and school holidays, providing a wide range of services and activities for children and their families as well as classes for adults of all ages.
