PT Saturday Night Coordinator Beacon

PART-TIME ACTIVITY SPECIALIST/SATURDAY COORDINATOR

Partnership with Children works with public schools in New York City’s highest-need communities to provide critical social and emotional services for the hardest-to-reach youth and to systematically support schools that are safe, successful, and conducive to learning.

Saturday Night Lights is a community-based initiative that provides safe, structured, and engaging recreational, educational, and enrichment opportunities for youth and families on Saturday evenings.
                  
Partnership with Children is seeking a Saturday Night Lights (SNL) Coordinator to oversee the implementation of Saturday evening programming for Middle School and High School youth. The SNL Coordinator is responsible for ensuring high-quality programming, maintaining compliance with DYCD requirements, supervising on-site staff, managing program operations, and serving as the primary point of contact for participants, partners, and funders. The SNL Coordinator reports to the Beacon Program Director and works in close collaboration with the Beacon Assistant Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the on-site administrator and primary point of contact during all SNL programming.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Beacon Program Director and Assistant Director regarding program operations, staffing, participant concerns, incidents, and compliance matters, escalating issues as appropriate and seeking approval before making significant operational decisions.
  • Ensure programming is implemented in accordance with DYCD Saturday Night Lights requirements and expectations.
  • Supervise and support coaches, group leaders, activity specialists, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Coordinate facility usage, program logistics, and staffing coverage.
  • Monitor participant safety and respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and behavioral concerns.
  • Complete and submit required documentation, including attendance records, incident reports, enrollment records, and program updates.
  • Ensure all participants have completed applications and are properly enrolled in DYCD Connect.
  • Support recruitment efforts to meet and maintain enrollment goals.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, school personnel, community partners, NYPD Youth Coordination Officers, and DYCD representatives.
  • Communicate program highlights, concerns, incidents, and operational updates to Partnership with Children leadership and DYCD as needed.
  • Ensure programming is structured, engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with DYCD program goals.
  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and technical assistance sessions.
  • Adhere to all Partnership with Children, DYCD, DOE, and Department of Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience supervising youth programs, afterschool programs, recreation programs, community programs, or similar settings.
  • Experience working with middle and high school youth.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with youth development, restorative practices, social-emotional learning, recreation, sports, or community engagement preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with supervisors.

Salary and Working Hours:
  • $20-$25/hour
  • Summer Schedule: 6 weeks on Saturdays from July 11, 2026 to August 15, 2026
  • School Year Schedule: 36 weeks on Saturdays from September 12, 2026 to June 19, 2027
  • Additional administrative hours may be required for planning, recruitment, training, reporting, and meetings.
  • Closed: 11/28/26; 12/26/26; 02/20/27; 4/03/27; and 05/22/27
