Role Overview
We are seeking a Program Director who will serve as the Founding Afterschool Multi-Site Director overseeing four afterschool programs. This includes the overall development, management, and adherence to program excellence and compliance. The ideal candidate is a skilled positive youth development leader and manager. They are also passionate about social justice, and committed to empowering students, families, schools, and communities.
Responsibilities – What You’ll Be Doing
Program Leadership

Launch and oversee the development a of four DYCD compass middle school afterschool programs.

Ensure each Partnership with Children afterschool program is implemented with fidelity to the organizational model.

Direct the development of annual work scopes, rosters, schedules, etc. Monitor progress and negotiate changes with stakeholders.

Use data to monitor program decisions and performance to continuously improve quality and outcomes

Be an active participant in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and utilize your knowledge and learning in your work.

Model, development and maintenance of key collaborative relationships including school principal, school staff and various NYC Public Schools staff engaged at the school and District levels.
Team Leadership and Development

Develop staff’s management and leadership skills including conflict resolution, negotiation, building and maintaining effective collaborations, and using data to inform programmatic decisions.

Develop staff’s ability to integrate into and engage with school culture through fostering positive relationships with school community.

Lead onboarding and train staff members to both Partnership with Children and DYCD policies and procedures.

Conduct weekly structured administrative supervision of direct reports.

Collaborate with the Talent and Recruitment team to hire site directors and afterschool staff.

Lead Site Directors through high stakes youth interventions.
Compliance and Operational Excellence

Oversee Provide programmatic, fiscal, and overall compliance oversight related to relevant contracts and funders including but not limited to DYCD, NYCPS, NYS DOE, and ACS.

Manage program budgets and ensure responsible stewardship of resources

Ensure administrative records and data collection are timely and high quality.
Qualifications: What Makes a Successful Candidate
Program Leadership
-
At least 8 years experience working with children, with a minimum of 2 years of progressive experience leading OST (Out-of-School Time) or similar youth/educational programs.

At least 4 years experience as supervisor or manager and experience overseeing multiple locations or a large team of program directors

Demonstrated understanding of high-need communities and public schools as well as social service, education and behavioral health issues that impact students and their families
- Understanding of change management as it relates to organizations and schools; ability to support staff in being change agents; Superior engagement, communication and presentation skills with stakeholders including principals and parents
- Ability to form and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with colleagues, principals and other strategic stakeholders

Other

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, Public Administration, or a closely related field required.

Master's degree or a School-Age Child Care (SACC) credential (preferred)

This position is fully in-person and does not offer any remote work. The roles requires the ability and willingness to travel to schools (by car or public transportation) daily

Salary and Benefits:
Salary is $85,000-$95,000- commensurate with credentials and experience.
