Development & Communications Associate

Partnership with Children works with public schools in New York City’s highest-need communities to provide critical social and emotional services for the hardest-to-reach youth and to systematically support schools that are safe, successful and conducive to learning. 

Partnership with Children is looking for a Development Associate to join our growing development team. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Development Associate will perform critical administrative, fundraising, and operational support tasks to facilitate the continuous function of a dynamic, fast-paced fundraising department, while also engaging PWC’s communities via digital and social media.   

Responsibilities:  

Gift Processing/Data Entry  

  • Track and process all contributions and event attendance in Salesforce (credit card, check, wire and/or stock transfer, and in-kind)  
  • Generate acknowledgment letters in a timely manner  
  • Work with Development Manager to support the accuracy, integrity and security of PWC’s Salesforce database by maintaining donor data (contact and demographic information, giving history, relationships, campaigns, funds, event participation, volunteerism, and communication); Ensure data is current and consistent  
  • Maintain development department filing systems  
 
Event/Administrative Support:  
  • Work with staff and consultants to provide support for fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events, including tasks related to planning and logistics, as well as event facilitation and sponsor/honoree/donor follow-up 
  • Assist fundraising staff with compiling supporting materials for funding proposals, reports, contracts, and other submissions as assigned  
  • Work with Chief Development Officer and other leadership to prepare meeting materials; coordinate and provide support for meetings and in-kind events 
 
Communications  
  • Assist Director of Communications with managing/segmenting donor lists for targeted stewardship and outreach 
  • Maintain PWC website and perform timely/relevant updates (Board, Events, etc.)   
  • Oversee execution of all mailings, including direct mail and e-mail campaigns   
  • Help manage PWC digital marketing and social media accounts, including assessing development technologies for greater efficiency and digital engagement  
  • Other duties as assigned  
 
Qualifications:  
  • Commitment to demonstrating PWC’s organizational values of Collaboration, Continuous Learning, Going to Solution, Equity & Inclusion, and Passion  
  • Bachelor's degree required; 1-2 years of experience working on a development team in a comparably-sized nonprofit preferred  
  • Strong experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Suite products, including fluency with running Salesforce reports 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills  
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy  
  • Highly organized and efficient worker, with excellent, follow through  
  • Design skills and experience including layout and design software systems (i.e., OneCauseAdobe In-design, Canva, etc.) preferred 
  • Analytical thinker and rapid problem solver  
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines  
  • Hours: Full-time, occasional evening and weekend hours 
  • Hybrid position, in-person two days per week (Tuesdays/Thursdays) 
  • Occasional travel within New York City to offsite events  

 
Salary and Benefits:  
Salary range is $55,000-$62,000 commensurate with credentials and experience. All full-time employees receive an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k retirement plan with employer match, life insurance, Flexible spending Account/FSA, Commuter benefits, and twenty-four days paid annual leave per year, plus four Summer Fridays and 12 other paid holidays.
